What's on now at CBS?
The heart of Campus Bible Study is the community of Christians who gather in 2s & 3s, with small groups from their faculty, or in a large group from across the campus – lots of different formats, but one common goal: prayerfully engaging with God through his Word in order to know and serve him! We often summarise this with our mission statement:
Â
Prayerfully proclaiming the crucified Christ as Lord of all, we evangelise, teach, train and send each other, as God’s servants into all the world.
We would love you to personally invest in this same mission on campus at UNSW! Around this essential core, there are lots of activities that support and enable the work. Below are details of some current opportunities to make the most of during your time at Uni.
Â
Plan to serve in Term 1
Uni is full of great opportunities to serve – discipling others, talking with your friends about Jesus, and reaching out to the thousands on campus! And CBS is a fellowship that trains and equips you for the mission on campus … and at church … and for the rest of your life! Don’t get caught up working so much that you miss what Uni has to offer and spread your class and ministry involvement over a few days to get the most from this season. crossangles.app is a great resource to help plan your timetable, and then you can sign-up here.
After a summer break, Kick-Off Conference is where the new year of ministry begins! Not only is it a great chance to catch-up with friends and meet the new staff on campus, it’s training for the ongoing mission on campus! So plan your holidays in order to be back by Saturday 1st February for a great day kicking off the year of serving Christ together on campus! Register here.
Hundreds of us commit days and weeks to serve in NTE missions and summer missions … and these are all excellent things! But our key summer mission is O-Week! This is when God brings thousands of new students to our campus, eager to make friends and open to learn … and we get to welcome them all with the love of Jesus and the truth of the gospel. Come and serve at o-week for 3-days (10-13 February) to reach the new students and invite them to meet with Christians to read the Bible at Uni! Sign-up here.

Did you know most students join Campus Bible Study because someone invited them? You’ve probably experienced this yourself, now you can join in inviting others! If you know anyone at church, or from your high school, or family friends, or anywhere, invite them to Welcome Day on Friday 7th February to meet other first years and be welcomed by some great upper years! The details are below, and you can direct them to campusbiblestudy.org/startinguni to find more info.
(If they aren’t coming to UNSW, you can connect them to the AFES group on their campus through the website headingtouni.info)
Dates for your Diary
To help you plan, here are some key dates for 2025.
Campus Bible Study has been prayerfully proclaiming Christ at UNSW for the last 50 years! As the saying goes, the only reason we can ‘see further’ today is because we ‘stand on the shoulders of giants’ who have come before us. Plan to join us for the CBS 50th on March 15th to learn from some of this history, praise God for his work, and be equipped and spurred on to continue this ministry for the next 50+ years (should Jesus not return first!). This isn’t just for CBS students and grads, feel free to invite church friends and family to come and understand a little of what CBS is all about.
